Sheikah Contest- OC Dask

Dask has the ability to seize the Shadow that trails behind a soul. These Shadows take the appearance of ribbons and can be used in various manners. One form of manipulation is binding, where Dask ties the spirits until they are unable to control their own movements....however, these ribbons can also be manipulated into a healing tactic. When controlled and set into certain patterns, it creates a remedy for the soul, which in turn alleviates afflictions of the body. Though he has more agility and stamina than the average Hylian, he is considered to be "lacking" when compared to the rest of the tribe. However, he does carry around a few daggers and several poison-tipped throwing needles, just in case.

Bio:
Dask was born a weak and fragile child. His beaded headdress was given to him by his mother (presumed to be dead now) before she left for an assignment in the Gerudo Desert. The jewel that hangs from the end of its beads not only keeps Dask’s magic in check, but is also a royal Hylian jewel, given to his ancestors for their service to Hyrule. Dask refuses to discuss his left eye...how he received the injury (if it is in fact an injury), no one is certain. There are rumors that his left eye is the secret to his bizarre control over his magic. At the age of 12 he was sent off to the Royal family to become a guard (the elders of the tribe considered him too weak to work in the desert like his parents had). Over the years he has adapted to the clothing style and mannerisms of the Hylians. He is often found in Castletown and the outskirts of the castle, patrolling. He wears clothing similar to that of the locals so as not to bring attention to himself on assignments (incognito) . He wears boots in order to get better traction when running on the hard pavement of Castletown. Despite this, he is proud of his heritage and bears the Sheikah emblem on his hair band, brace, and tunic (though you can't really see it in the picture). Aside from his job, he enjoys flirting with all the pretty girls of Hyrule (the little scamp) and is often found playing with the cats around Castletown. At first glance, he may seem intimidating, but once you become his friend, he's like a tiny little teddy-bear (and a bit of a martyr).

He is very expressive, which is why I decided to go ahead and draw some of them X3

Influence:
Well, of course the Sheikah tribe influenced my design. The red eyes and Sheikah tribe emblem are the known facts. Since Impa, the one canon Sheikah, had red eyes and white hair...I decided to give Dask the same, only more gray just to mix it up a bit. His scrutinizing eye is was inspired by Sheik, I suppose. Really, I tried to make Dask as creative as possible, while still following the known knowledge of the Sheikah. His special skills also played a part in his design...Since the Sheikah are also known as "Shadow Folk" I figured that giving him strong shadow/magic powers would be a far stretch (I hope ) Also, since his agility was a little less than the average Sheikah, and he specialized in magic (which doesn't take as much physical strength) I gave him a more lanky body. His clothes were inspired by the everyday clothing of the Hylian (specifically the ones walking around Castletown). His boots, as I said before, are meant for him to walk around on hard streets and cold castle floors (they provide warmth during the winter and protect the feet better than the classic Sheikah ninja-like shoes)....though if you wanted to, you could say they were inspired by Link's boots ^_^


I really felt ignorant about the Sheikah while drawing this, so I apologize if this borders or crosses the line of none-canon territory I wanted to create an OC that had similarities to Sheik and Impa, but was also a Sheikah in and of itself...so I apologize if it seems that it doesn't fit, but I wanted to create something out of the box, but still close to it.
